Why Them? The embodiment of thinking outside of the box, Lee, Hill and Jones are tireless in their passion for elevating and refining the BET brand. Original programming is key for this trio, with several new shows on the roster, including “Real Husbands of Hollywood.” BET hit “The Game” ended its 2013 midseason finale with more than 6 million tuning in to watch pro football intersect with personal drama. Original movies are in the plan as well. “Being Mary Jane,” from the creators of “The Game,” will premiere this summer. Then, there’s BET’s spinoff network Centric, which struck a unique deal with Entertainment Studios through which two first-year situation comedies, “The First Family” and “Mr. Box Office,” premiered in syndication and will then head to cable and finally to Entertainment Studios’ HD net Comedy.tv. And, as if that’s not enough, there’s the launch of the BET Experience three-day festival around the BET Awards show.
