— Agilent Technologies enhanced its N5973A Interactive Functional Test Automation for Verizon Wireless Compliance Test Plans software, including new scripts to automate Verizon’s IMS VoIP compliance test plan. The new N5973A-4FP scripts reportedly provide full automation for such voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) functional tests as call setup and teardown, call waiting and handovers to eHRPD. The enhancement includes Agilent’s E6966A IMS-SIP network emulator software that provides the IMS-SIP server and client necessary to achieve full end-to-end VoIP connectivity.
— The next generation of high-speed Ethernet test solutions from Spirent Communications reportedly doubles port densities while lowering power consumption and total cost of ownership. The Spirent dX2 offers what the company says is the industry’s first 8-port 40GbE/32-port 10GbE dual-speed test module in a single slot configuration packing up to 96 ports of 40GbE onto a single chassis. The fX2 40/10GbE dual-speed test modules combine Spirent’s layer 2-7 traffic generation and analysis with scalable network emulation; it supports as many as five 40GbE and 20 10GbE ports per slot. The fX and mX two-port, single slot 100GbE test modules now support CFP2 optical transceivers. And the new SPT-N11U chassis features Intelligent Power Control that lowers the power consumption of high-scale test beds by as much as 60 percent along with four-fold improvement in boot time.
