Serve and Volley: Tennis Channel was embroiled in a highly publicized carriage dispute this year with Cablevision, serving notice that it’s unafraid to leverage its new content slate. The net eventually conceded, but it clearly believes the distribution ball is in its own court.

Tennis should continue to gain viewers for its Grand Slam coverage, but the sport’s secondary-tier status in America makes it a tough sell.
