Comcast launched Discovery HD Theater and more than 70 hours/month of Discovery Nets VOD programming in Philly. — Overbuilder RCN added Cinemax HD and Starz HD. RCN also launched SVOD for Showtime and The Movie Channel at no additional charge for subs who currently subscribe to the premium nets. — Superstation WGN added 3.2mln HHs in the first 6 months of ’04, bringing its distribution up to 62.2mln HHs. Jan’s Comcast deal, which brought the channel to Baltimore, Atlanta and Jacksonville, FL, drove the gains.
