Comcast [CMCSA] notified the FCC that it expects to acquire about 30K subs in GA and SC from US Cable on Fri, or thereabout. But don’t look for the acquisition to change the MSO’s share of multichannel HHs. Comcast’s market share will remain at 28.9% because it’s already credited with all the subs in the systems being acquired from US Cable of Coastal, TX, it said in a filing last week. The reason the numbers don’t change is because Comcast is in a partnership with US Cable in which it owns 5% or more of US Cable subs (therefore, under FCC rules, Comcast is credited with all of US Cable’s customers, not just the ones it actually owns).
