AARP hired veteran programmer Dick Kurlander to help create TV shows aimed at older viewers. More than 75mln Baby Boomers are set to reach retirement age within a few years, representing a relatively untapped demo, according to 2000 Census data. The AARP hopes to get cable nets like Discovery Health, HGTV and Fine Living to join its plan to target older viewers.
