Nat Geo Wins Top Mark Award
The Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing announced the winners of the 2007 Mark Awards at the CTAM Summit today in Washington, D.C.
The Mark Awards, which recognize excellence in consumer and industry marketing for the cable and telecommunications industries, announced a total of 54 gold and 105 silver winners out of 1,032 entries.
Showtime received the most honors among programmers, winning a total of 16 Mark Awards (5 gold and 11 silver), followed by MTV Networks with 15 (6 gold and 9 silver) and Fox Cable Networks (including National Geographic Channel) with 14 Mark Awards, including the competition’s highest honor, the Top of the Mark Award, for NGC’s The Gospel of Judas campaign, marking the first time a public relations campaign has won that honor.
Comcast won the most Mark Awards among cable operators, with a total of 10 (7 gold and 3 silver awards) this year, followed by Time Warner Cable with 9 (3 gold and 6 silver).
The 2007 SkiTAM Spirit Award was presented to Cartoon Network for its Rescuing Recess public affairs campaign, an in-schools initiative that promotes physical activity to combat child obesity with a healthy dose of daily fun.
