Viacom [VIA] co-pres/COO Tom Freston is shaking things up at the media conglomerate, placing MTV Nets group pres Herb Scannell in charge of Paramount Parks and Viacom Consumer Products. (Scannell also oversees Nick, Nick at Nite, Noggin, Spike TV, TV Land and The N.) MTVN Intl pres Bill Roedy will add Paramount Comedy Channel UK and Paramount Comedy Spain to the 71 overseas nets he already helms. Lastly, MTVN ad sales evp and COO Bob Bakish takes over the newly created position of evp, operations, where he’ll steer Viacom’s theatrical-exhibition businesses, along with Famous Music, the company’s music-publishing arm.
