In the Wild: Wandering the WEC Exhibit Hall

The buzz at the Omni Hotel in downtown Atlanta is slowly dissipating as attendants of NCTC’s Winter Educational Conference 2025 return to their home territories, but just because WEC is over doesn’t mean the conversations are. While co-op members mingled throughout the assortment of sessions and networking breaks, NCTC devoted a sizeable amount of time for folks to check out the exhibit floor and see the latest developments companies have in store. Monday’s agenda entailed 5.5 hours of dedicated exhibit floor time—including a lunch and cocktail reception hosted on the floor—and Tuesday kept the 10am-noon slot open for exhibitors as well.
“Something that’s a bit unique for WEC is the floor is open. There’s no competing sessions,” NCTC CEO Lou Borrelli said during his opening remarks Monday. “We’re giving you [the] maximum ability, maximum time, to interact with our partners, your vendors, our relationships, and please take full advantage of that, because this is probably the only show that does that still.”
Among the hubbub of vendors on the exhibit floor included familiar faces like Calix, Comcast Technology Solutions, Harmonic, NCTI and TiVo, but there were some like Witbe and Mavsotech who made their WEC debut. Witbe is a company that provides test automation and proactive monitoring technology for global video services, having announced it joined the co-op just a short week ago. Mavsotech, which celebrated its one-year anniversary in September, showcased its solutions to help providers bring down operational costs and risks while improving quality during deployments of new services.
Part of the exhibitor floor intrigue at trade shows is how they draw the attention of observers. CCR Media got people ready for golf season with a putting mat (no comment on the result of said putt). Plume hit a double-whammy and displayed a flier offering folks the chance to win an Ooni Pizza Oven if they attended the Tuesday session about optimizing network efficiency featuring its Acting CEO/Co-Founder Adam Hotchkiss.
And of course, there are the goodies that companies offer for those who stop by. Plenty of pens, water bottles and notebooks were handed out, but OpenVault’s pairs of blue light glasses stood out “to help see what we’re seeing” with its Vantage solution.
