It’s been a huge year for Silar, a key driver behind the launch of TelevisaUnivision’s burgeoning streaming platforms. She spearheaded the content strategy for PrendeTV, providing 30 channels and 10,000 hours of content, and she recruited and managed a new team, led third-party content acquisition and built a library of original channels for ViX, the largest Spanish-language free streaming service across the U.S. and Latin America.

What makes this industry a good fit for you? This industry is ever changing allowing for opportunities to continue learning and growing! I love start-ups and building brands and teams.
Who is a woman who has inspired you? My daughters, Bella and Gigi, inspire me to learn from them and continue creating a path for them.
How has your definition of success changed over the course of your career? It’s evolved from the work that I have done to the teams that I have built. These brilliant professionals have gone on to have amazing careers.
What is a quote that you draw inspiration from? “One isn’t necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can’t be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest.” – Maya Angelou. This speaks to me because I am part of the immigrant community that left our home country for better opportunities. The courage my parents demonstrated laid the building blocks of who I am today!
My mental health aha moment: Be present! Stop planning and enjoy the moment because every experience is different!
What unique challenges do women still face in the workplace? Equality in pay and career opportunities have improved but we still must raise our voices to be seen and heard!
