In August, McMahon was tapped to oversee CMV’s first-run syndicated programming, but she’s not leaving journalism. As head of CBS News’ broadcast and streaming operations, including 27 local stations and 14 local news streaming channels—she increased local news from 29,000 hours in 2021 to nearly 42,000 by late 2023. Her team launched a local news Innovation Lab in Dallas-Fort Worth, a full-scale “newsroom of the future” in Detroit, introduced broadcast-streaming hybrid newscasts in several markets and created EPIC positions in several markets.
