Time Warner Cable
Time Warner Cable has a lot going for it in the cool department, not least of which is that its headquarters resides in the Center of the Universe (aka, New York City). Interestingly, however, the company exudes a down-to-earth quality, cultivated largely by low-key CEO Glenn Britt, whose quiet leadership has shepherded the company through many storms. Among employee benefits is TWC’s generous retirement program and pension plan (a rarity these days), and robust internal training programs as well as subsidized fitness facilities, dry clean- ing pick-ups and a flexible spending account for daycare. Mentoring includes a formal 12-month one-on-one program and another specifically for women. In fact, female TWC execs have grown from 18% in 2007 to 32% in 2011. It’s no accident that in 2011 TWC received the WICT PAR Top Operator of the Year Award, as well as the Diversity Champion award from the Kaitz Foundation. Add this kudos to the growing list!
