Jonathan Bullock Hotwire CFX Video

Florida-based Hotwire Communications’ commitment to an all-fiber network nearly two decades ago has given the ISP a leg up in providing its customers with high-end video and internet services. In fact, Netflix just awarded Hotwire the top spot in its October ISP Speed Index. Speaking with Cablefax at this year’s Cable-Tec Expo, Hotwire corporate development vp Jonathan Bullock discussed the advantages the company has based on its network. “We knew it would be future proof at the time and we wanted to make sure we were always going to have a state-of-the-art network,” he said. “It’s really afforded us a lot of opportunities in not having to upgrade to the latest DOCSIS.”

Hotwire is working with SES on its next step forward, launching 4K video delivery to their customers in the first quarter of next year. “Our customers are demanding 4K and having the opportunity to provide that to them and compete with the OTT providers is a nice thing to be able to do,” Bullock said.
