Landgraf tallies 599 Scripted Series for 2022
Could “peak TV” be nearing its summit? For FX that could be the case as Chairman John Landgraf revealed at the Television Critics Association’s Winter Tour that there were an estimated 599 adult scripted original series across broadcast, cable and streamers in 2022—up 7% from 2021.

Craig Erwich, president, ABC Entertainment, Hulu & Disney Branded Television Streaming Originals, got things started by announcing a third season for “Abbott Elementary.”

Programming Winds of Change
Paramount is nixing its annual upfront extravaganza at Carnegie Hall next year, instead opting for more intimate gatherings for clients and agencies. It’s the first major brushstroke of change from the company’s new ad leader, John Halley, who took over from longtime chief Jo Ann Ross earlier this year.

‘In Treatment’ Makes Pandemic Era Return
HBO therapy drama “In Treatment” returned for a fourth season Sunday at 9pm, but the premiere probably looked a bit different to longtime fans of the series. The last season finished airing in 2010 and a new doctor is in.
