Airgain Inc. says its high-performance embedded antennas will be shipping in the next-gen Belkin AC1000 DB and AC1200 DB Wi-Fi Dual-Band AC+ Gigabit Routers later this summer…u-blox, a global provider of positioning and wireless semiconductors, is buying U.K.-based Cognovo Ltd., a company specializing in Software Defined Modem (SDM) chip-development technology, for $165.5 million. The purchase will help u-blox create differentiated products for markets needing 4G communications combined with global positioning. Some 30 Cognovo staffers will be retained…Mass.-based Chase Corporation now owns 100 percent of the capital stock of NEPTCO Inc., a private company whose core products are sold primarily into the broadband communications and electronics packaging industries. The new owner paid $67 million, and Chase also will buy NEPTCO’s 50-percent ownership stake in an unnamed joint venture. NEPTCO engineers materials used in the production of copper cable and electronic packaging products…Hughes Network Systems is touting what it says was a successful demonstration of wireless 4G/Long Term Evolution (LTE) transmissions over satellite backhaul at download speeds faster than 10 Mbps and upload speeds of 786 Kbps, including video phone calls. The testing involved the combination of a Hughes satellite modem with Jupiter high-throughput technology and Lemko Corporation‘s Distributed Mobility Wireless Network (DiMoWiNe). The beneficiaries of this include first responders and the military.
